'In a Week' - A Coffin Shadowbox
'In a Week' - A Coffin Shadowbox
"I have never known peace
like the damp grass that yields to me.
I have never known hunger
like these insects that feast on me."
-In A Week by Hozier & Karen Cowley
This coffin shadow box display features a sustainably-sourced red fox skull with beautiful teeth. Lower jaw not included. It is surrounded by a reddish-brown stag beetle and bumblebee found naturally deceased in my yard, zinnia and echinacea from my garden, hand-crafted clay mushrooms, clear quartz & tiger's eye chunks, and amethyst chips.
These intentionally-chosen pieces are arranged over craft moss and adhered to a yellow hand-sewn coffin lining.
This piece can be displayed open or closed, but keep in mind that the longevity of the insects and flowers will be best preserved by keeping the display away from sunlight and high temperatures. The lid can be sealed shut upon request.
